Our Mission: Preparedness
DFW Safety Bros was founded by two friends with decades of emergency response experience. One spent his career responding to the chaos of the field, while the other dedicated his life to preparing for it. Together, we help families and organizations bridge the gap between emergency response and practical preparedness.
Our mission is simple: to provide the knowledge and confidence needed to navigate any emergency. We focus on practical readiness, education, and creating plans that work for your specific household or organization. We believe that preparation is the ultimate act of protection.
The Founders
George Silva
George Silva is a 20+ year United States Navy veteran with extensive experience in combat medicine, military operations, emergency management, disaster preparedness, leadership, and training. Early in his career, George served as a Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Corpsman supporting a Marine Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, providing medical support during EOD operations, training, and multiple overseas deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
George later served with Naval Special Warfare Command in Coronado, California, where he led the medical unit at the Training Detachment and provided medical support to teams throughout Unit Level Training. These experiences gave him firsthand exposure to high-risk environments where preparation, training, teamwork, and the ability to act under pressure can mean the difference between life and death.
George eventually transitioned into emergency management and disaster preparedness, completing formal education and certification in the field. He served as Emergency Manager for Naval Hospital Corpus Christi, where he was responsible for emergency plans, evacuation procedures, hospital emergency codes, drills, exercises, and preparedness programs. He also helped lead the hospital's emergency preparedness efforts during Hurricane Harvey.
As a husband, father, and pet owner, George believes preparedness shouldn't be limited to the military, government agencies, or large corporations. He co-founded Safety Bros after recognizing a gap: families and smaller businesses often face the same emergencies but don't have access to dedicated emergency-management professionals.
Through Safety Bros, George's mission is to bring practical, real-world preparedness to everyday people—helping them identify risks, build plans, and develop the confidence to act before an emergency becomes a crisis.
Chris O'Steen
Chris O'Steen is a retired Fire Captain and Paramedic with more than 20 years of experience in emergency response, public safety, leadership, and training. Throughout his career, Chris served as a Technical Rescue Team member, SWAT Tactical Medic, and Field Training Officer, mentoring new paramedics and leading teams through high-pressure, real-world emergencies.
Before beginning his career in the fire service, Chris proudly served four years in the United States Navy in security and military police roles. Together, his military and emergency-services experience has given him a unique perspective on risk, preparedness, and what people need to know before an emergency happens.
As a husband and father of four, Chris understands that preparedness starts at home. After spending decades responding to emergencies, he has seen firsthand how the right knowledge, planning, and preparation can make a critical difference when seconds matter.
As Co-Founder of Safety Bros, Chris is committed to helping families, businesses, schools, and organizations become better prepared for the unexpected. Through practical education, emergency planning, hands-on training, and lessons drawn from real-world experience, Safety Bros helps everyday people develop the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves and the people around them.
For Chris, preparedness isn't about living in fear. It's about knowing what to do, having a plan, and being ready to act when it matters most.
